On November 20, the San Diego State University–Georgia Advisory Board meeting was held, bringing together the Minister and Deputy Ministers of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, leadership from San Diego State University, a representative of the U.S. Embassy, partner universities, and private-sector stakeholders.
The Advisory Board meets twice a year to review academic progress and internationalisation efforts made by the University.
The meeting opened with welcoming remarks from President Adela de la Torre, Minister Givi Mikanadze, and U.S. Embassy representative Harvey Sernovitz. Presentations were delivered by Ian Gibson, Dean of the Global Campus, and Halil Guven, Dean Emeritus of SDSU-Georgia, followed by an engaging discussion among participants.
The Minister concluded the meeting by highlighting the potential for future cooperation within the framework of ongoing higher education reforms.
