Second Round of Coaching Sessions Commences in Lanchkhuti Municipality

September 30, 2025

Following the highly positive feedback from the first round of training, the SDSU Early Childhood Education (ECE) team has launched the second round of coaching sessions in Lanchkhuti, starting on September 29. This initiative engages 60 caregiver-pedagogues and 30 directors from selected kindergartens to consolidate and apply the evidence-based practices introduced during the 2024 training cycles.

The 10-day, face-to-face program emphasizes child-centered teaching, observation and assessment strategies, inclusive approaches for children with disabilities, and fostering robust partnerships with families. Each kindergarten receives two extended two-hour coaching visits, providing opportunities for individualized feedback, practical task assignments, and reinforcement of effective pedagogical practices.

The event was formally opened by Ms. Tamar Tchkonia, Early Childhood Education Component Lead at the Georgia Innovation, Inclusion, and Quality Project, and Dr. Nodar Surguladze, SDSU ECE Project Local Coordinator. Each round commences with an initial session convening caregivers and directors to revisit core concepts, clarify coaching objectives, and outline the implementation plan. Trainers subsequently conduct on-site visits to observe classroom practices and provide tailored support. The concluding session brings all participants together to review findings, exchange experiences, and formulate final recommendations for sustained professional development.

This structured coaching framework enhances professional competencies, promotes confidence and motivation, and facilitates long-term mastery of essential pedagogical skills, building on the foundational knowledge established during the prior training cycle. Additional coaching sessions will commence on October 10.
