Second Round of Early Childhood Education Coaching Conducted in Dedoplistskaro Municipality

The SDSU Early Childhood Education (ECE) team continued the second round of coaching sessions in Dedoplistskaro Municipality from October 27 to November 7, following the highly positive outcomes of earlier phases.

This stage involved 30 caregiver-pedagogues and 15 kindergarten directors from participating early education institutions, focusing on advancing the practical use of evidence-based teaching strategies introduced during the 2024 training cycle.

During the 10-day, in-person program, participants engaged in sessions on child-centered instruction, effective observation and assessment techniques, and fostering collaboration with families. Each kindergarten benefitted from two extended two-hour coaching visits, offering direct feedback, practical assignments, and support in applying effective classroom practices.

The Dedoplistskaro round was officially opened by local Kindergarten Union representatives and Dr. Nodar Surguladze, SDSU ECE Project Local Coordinator.

Each coaching cycle began with a review of key concepts and planning discussions, followed by on-site mentoring visits and a closing session where educators shared experiences, assessed progress, and identified strategies for continued improvement.

This coaching initiative continues to strengthen teachers’ professional skills, confidence, and commitment to high-quality, child-centered early learning practices, further consolidating progress made during the previous training phase.
