Second Round of Early Childhood Education Coaching Held in Vani Municipality
Building on the momentum of the initial training phase, the SDSU Early Childhood Education (ECE) team conducted the second round of coaching sessions in Vani Municipality from October 27 to November 7.
This round brought together 30 caregiver-pedagogues and 15 kindergarten directors from participating early childhood institutions. The sessions focused on strengthening the practical use of evidence-based teaching practices introduced earlier in the 2024 training cycle.
Throughout the 10-day, in-person program, participants engaged in interactive discussions and hands-on activities centered on child-centered learning, observation and assessment techniques, and strategies for meaningful family engagement. Each kindergarten benefited from two extended, two-hour coaching visits that provided individualized feedback, practical assignments, and opportunities for reflection and improvement.
The Vani round was formally opened by representatives of the local Kindergarten Union and SDSU ECE Project Local Coordinator Dr. Nodar Surguladze.
The coaching process began with a session dedicated to revisiting essential concepts and setting clear objectives for implementation. Trainers then carried out on-site observations, offering tailored support to each participant. The program concluded with a joint reflection session where educators shared insights, discussed progress, and formulated plans for further professional development.
This phase of the ECE coaching initiative continues to empower educators in Vani, enhancing their skills, confidence, and commitment to high-quality, child-centered teaching practices while reinforcing the foundations established during the previous phase of the project.
