As part of the I2Q Project, SDSU recently provided specialized training for nutrition experts involved in the early childhood education sector’s authorization process. This training aimed to enhance the expertise of professionals responsible for evaluating and accrediting early education institutions, with a focus on nutrition standards and practices.

The training covered key aspects of childhood nutrition, including the importance of providing balanced, age-appropriate meals that support healthy growth and development. Participants learned how to assess nutrition programs in early childhood education settings, ensuring that they align with national health standards and contribute to the overall well-being of children.

Through a combination of theoretical sessions and practical exercises, the experts were equipped with the tools and knowledge needed to evaluate nutrition plans, recommend improvements, and ensure that institutions adhere to the necessary guidelines for healthy eating environments.

This nutrition-focused training is a vital part of the I2Q Project’s broader efforts to enhance early childhood education in Georgia, ensuring that children receive not only high-quality education but also the nutrition they need to thrive. By strengthening the capabilities of nutrition experts, SDSU is helping to foster a holistic approach to child development within educational settings.
