SDSU experts developed the School Readiness Program (SRP) curriculum, focusing on child-centered teaching for five- to six-year-olds. The curriculum includes essential components such as methodology, assessment, planning, and family involvement. Practical examples were added to guide teachers in applying flexible, project-based approaches.
The curriculum aligns with the 2-5 framework, emphasizing social-emotional development and critical thinking skills.
The SRP online training modules covered child-oriented strategies, play-based learning, and observation techniques, with sessions tailored to teachers’ varied experience levels. SDSU trainers delivered eight online sessions for 128 participants, with additional training scheduled to bring the total to 174.
